The Nursing Director of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: “so far, 25 hospitals (22 hospitals in Mashhad, 3 hospitals in other cities) of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences have established health education clinics to which patients can refer and benefit from its free services”. According to WebDa, noting that establishing a committee to train patients is a top priority for the university, the Deputy for Treatment and the Nursing Management of the university, Mohammad Hassan Ezzati said to reporters: “these clinics are important because they quicken the process of treatment and provide patients with more satisfaction”. He mentioned to patients’ satisfaction as a goal of the university and said: “entering a treatment environment creates great stress in the patient and communicating with the patient and training them can, to some extent, relieve this stress”. Ezzati stated that empowering the patient enhances the quality of their life; he said: “there are some plans to provide health education for both hospitalized patients and outpatients with the aim of gaining their satisfaction”. The Nursing Director of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences referred to the Ministry of Health’s emphasis on funding health education of the patients by treatment centers and said: “accordingly, from the time the patient is accommodated, a pamphlet that explains the situation is given to them”. He added: “patients are provided with training at the time of treatment and the release and the role of doctors and nurses is critical. Of course, the nurse plays a more important role in providing health education due to a longer time that they spend with the patient”. Pointing to the importance of training at the time of release, Ezzati said: “this training is provided for the patient not only orally but also in the written form and items such as drugs, diets, next referral to the hospital, etc. are also emphasizes”. Pointing to health education in treatment centers of the university, the Nursing Director of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: “unfortunately, patients are not aware of such services in hospitals and we hope we can raise their awareness about their rights and make it possible for them to benefit from this effective education during the time they stay in treatment centers”. He said: “teams of health supervisors of the university have been formed to provide patients with training about hospitalization; these teams present necessary trainings periodically in hospitals of the university”. Mentioning health training for outpatients, Ezzati said: “establishing health education clinics in hospitals to provide necessary trainings for outpatients is an investment that can affect patient’s performance and satisfaction and reduce costs”. The Nursing Director of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: “so far, 25 hospitals (22 hospitals in Mashhad, 3 hospitals in other cities) of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences have established health education clinics; professors of Mashhad School of Nursery teach in one of these clinics that is located in Qaem Hospital of Mashhad”. He added: “although establishing health education clinics is not obligatory for all hospitals, hospitals have felt the need to these clinics and have established them”. Ezzati said that referring to clinics is free for all. He said: “to receive health trainings, patients can refer to the doctor or to health clinic of the hospital so that enough time is allocated to each patient to provide the necessary data for self-care and the patient can enhance the quality of their life”. |
