3 more faculty members of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences have joined the world’s top 1 percent scientists.
According to WEBDA, the Deputy of Research and Technology of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated that the list of the top 10 percent medical scientists of the country, related to November 2017, was announced in the ESI-Essential Science Indicators ranking system. He added that Dr. Mohammad Hossein Boskabady, Dr. Mohammad Ramezani, and Dr. Khalil Abnus have joined the world’s top 1 percent scientists.
Dr. Mohsen Tafaghodi pointed out that the ESI has classified different branches of sciences into 22 main branches, namely physics, chemistry, microbiology, mathematics, clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology, biochemistry, economics, etc., and ranks the individuals, universities, and research centers every two months based on reference to their published articles in the past 10 years and also announces the top 1 percent in each class.
Based on the last results of this credible international ranking system, the number of top scientists of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, who have been placed among the 1 percent highly cited scientists, increased to 6.
Previously, Dr. Hossein Hosseinzadeh, Dr. Mehrdad Iranshahi, and Dr. Amir Hossein Sahebkar, members of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, had been on the list of the 1 percent highly cited scientists.
Publication of 227 articles by Dr. Mohammad Ramezani
Dr. Mohammad Ramezani, the distinguished university professor and the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology of the School of Pharmacy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, and the Secretary of the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Board of the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, has so far published 227 articles in credible research journals in the field of targeted drug and gene delivery, proteomics, and biosensors.
Based on the research conducted, Dr. Mohammad Ramezani’s articles have had more than 3086 citations with the h-index 27.
Successful implementation of more than 100 research projects, supervision of more than 50 Ph.D. dissertations in biotechnology, nanotechnology, organic chemistry, and nanobiotechnology, and obtaining the second rank in 2009 Razi Festival are among the other achievements of Dr. Ramezani.
Publication of 219 articles by Dr. Mohammad Hossein Boskabady
Dr. Mohammad Hossein Boskabady, professor of the Department of Physiology of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, has so far published 209 and 10 English and Persian articles respectively in credible international journals.
Dr. Boskabady has conducted research on asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, pharmacology of respiratory diseases, occupational respiratory diseases and the effect of environmental pollutants and toxic substances on the respiratory system (chemical veterans), tobacco, pulmonary function tests, and medicinal herbs and has completed more than 90 research projects.
Supervision of 90 master’s and Ph.D. dissertations in dentistry, pharmacy, and general medicine are among the other research activities of Dr. Mohammad Hossein Boskabady.
Publication of 201 articles by Dr. Khalil Abnus
Dr. Khalil Abnus, professor of the School of Pharmacy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, has so far published 201 English and Persian articles in credible international journals.
Dr. Abnus, with the H-index is 23, has conducted research on aptamer design and separation, targeted drug and gene delivery using aptamer-targeted nanocarriers, design and construction of opto censors, and examination of the mechanism of toxicity.
Dr. Abnus has so far completed 131 research projects and is working on 94 other projects as the executive in collaboration with other researchers.
Publication of 274 articles in national and international databases and 19 books in the field of medicinal herbs and neuropharmacology, especially saffron and black seed, are among the other scientific and research measures taken by Dr. Hossein Hosseinzadeh.
With the publication of 105 articles in the past 10 years as well as 882 citations and average citation of 8.4 for each article, Dr. Iranshahi has also been included in the list of the top 1 percent scientists of the world.
Dr. Iranshahi has so far in published 135 scientific articles in credible international journals. Obtaining different research awards including the third ranking in the Fifteenth Festival of Razi in 2009, being selected as the top young researcher by the Ministry of Health, and obtaining different research awards in the Research Week are among the other achievements of this professor of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
Dr. Amir Hossein Sahebkar, assistant professor and faculty member of the Department of Medical Biotechnology of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, has so far published more than 300 articles in credible international scientific databases. Most of his articles, studied on cellular, molecular, and animal sections, are about cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis, cholesterol, and new medicinal treatments.
Obtaining the top rank in Razi Festival, obtaining the top rank as the young researcher by ISESCO Islamic, Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, being selected as the representative of Iran (National Lead Investigator) in the Familial Hypercholesterolemia Committee and the European Atherosclerosis Association, being appreciated by the World Heart Association, being selected as the top researcher in the National Elite Foundation, obtaining the first rank of professors in the Quranic Research Festival of medical universities of the country, and obtaining the postdoctoral fellowship in cardiometabolic diseases from the University of Western Australia are among his other scientific achievements. |
