Manager of Students’ Affairs at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: “this summer, 2 billion tomans was spent to improve and reconstruct the heating and cooling systems of students’ dormitories”. Congratulating students of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences on the occasion of 16th of Azar (December 7th), the student day, Amir Reza Saleh Moghaddam said to WebDa: as one the most prominent type 1 universities of the country with more than 800 faculty members and more than nine thousand students in various fields and degrees, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences has the responsibly of training human resources for the medical section”. He added: “about 2500 students reside in state dormitories of the university campus which, through offering proper dormitory facilities, provides high quality student accommodation compared to universities of medical sciences in other provinces”. Saleh Moghaddam said: “2 billion tomans was spent to reconstruct and improve facilities, the heating and cooling systems, the painting, the fire extinguishing system, and to replace the floors, refrigerators and televisions of student dormitories”. Pointing that Mashhad University of Medical Sciences is the first university under the Ministry of Health to provide nutrition programs for students, he said: “three hot meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), diary packages, vegetables, fruit, white and red protein, together with meals with prices approved by the Ministry of Health are offered to students”. Manager of Students’ Affairs at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: “two dining salons located in the university campus and the central self-service on Daneshgah St. serve about 2000 meals for breakfast, 4500 meals for lunch and about 3000 meals for dinner”. He said: “with kitchens and dining salons being repaired and improved and the dishes changes, the student nutrition unit of the university attempts to improve conditions of food distribution for students”. Pointing to other measure taken and the available facilities, Saleh Moghaddam said: “the student welfare office offers emergency, accommodation and marriage loans to students. Moreover, loans are given by the student interest-free (Qarzul-Hassaneh) funds that are launched by donor professors to needy students of the university with a repayment period longer than for the loans given by the student welfare fund”. He said: “with a budget amounting to 80 million tomans, the student transportation office transfers students for free from the university campus to hospitals and faculties of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences continuously from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on an hourly basis”. Mentioning the possibility for students to carry out political, social, cultural and artistic activities in the university, Saleh Moghddam said: “four political establishments: student Basij, the Islamic Association of Students, the Islamic Society of students, and Jahad Daneshgahi are concerned with political social activities of students”. He said: “tens of cultural and artistic associations set the grounds for students to be active in the areas of poetry, theatre, charity, and as for student publications, more than 20 student journals are active in the university with cooperation from students. Manager of Students’ Affairs at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences noted that students cooperate with managers to expand welfare services by forming student … councils in all dormitories and faculties Saleh Moghaddam said: “with the aim of expanding welfare services for students qualitatively and quantitatively, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences has repaired and reconstructed student self-services and has industrialized the cooking process.
