Educational Workshop on Diabetic Foot Care Was Held

An educational workshop was held on diabetic foot care for nurses in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. According to WEBDA, with the efforts of the Department of Education of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and the Research Institute for Endocrine Sciences and Metabolism of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, this workshop was held with the aim of providing theoretical expertise and necessary clinical skills for the evaluation of people suffering from diabetic foot as well as planning a care program for this group of patients with an emphasis on group work and timely referral to the relevant specialist for two days on November 15 and 16. In this two-day workshop, nurses were familiarized with theoretical expertise, diabetic foot epidemiology and therapeutic-care system in diabetic foot, diabetic food screening and diagnosis of different types of diabetic foot ulcers, guidelines for controlling and managing diabetic foot problems in order to provide the best care, the role of nurses in diabetic foot care, and codification of a diabetic foot nursing care program. In this workshop, the methods of diabetic food screening and diagnosis of different types of diabetic foot ulcers in practical settings, guidelines for controlling and managing diabetic foot problems and correct application of them in practical settings, and guidelines for the education and rehabilitation of diabetic foot and correct application of them in practical settings were offered. It is worth mentioning that in this workshop, Dr. Neda Mehrdad was the scientific secretary and Dr. Dehghan Nayeri and Dr. Akbarzadeh were the executive secretaries. |
