According to Webda, Novel Technologies Research Center of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences ranked second among Iranian universities of medical sciences, based on the evaluation by Ministry of Health and Medical Education. “According to the goals of Comprehensive Health Science Plan and national large-scale research policies calling for expanding activities of medical research centers and research institutes in priority areas and implementation of Comprehensive Monitoring and Assessment System, 23 research centers of Iranian universities of medical sciences were evaluated by Ministry of Health,” said MUMS Vice President for Research and Technology. Dr. Mohsen Tafaghodi noted that these centers have been doing research activities for more than three years, and were assessed on the basis of their knowledge production and scientific publication indicators (activities of the ‘subsidiary’ centers they might cover are also included in calculating the indicators). “There were two separate rankings for basic and clinical sciences. Novel Technologies Research Center of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences ranked second (after Pasteur Institute of Iran) in basic sciences.” he added. |
